Buddhism in Everyday Life

In our busy lives, full of obligations and responsibilities, it may be difficult to create the opportunity for extensive formal practice and retreat. Discussed here are the many methods available in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism for authentically integrating an ongoing spiritual practice into one’s everyday life.

The five poisons of the mind - Transforming Negative Emotions

Anger, desire, ignorance, pride and jealousy are the delusions of the mind that obscure our pure essence, like dark clouds blocking the sun. These deeply ingrained negative emotions are the cause of endless suffering. Through spiritual practice we can go beyond our habitual responses and transform these destructive tendencies, arriving at the direct experience of their innately pure wisdom essence.

The Ethics of Pure Motivation

There is a common opinion that it is necessary to put one’s own interests first in order to succeed. This fundamental misperception is due to the accumulation of negative habits that are all based on a fundamental ignorance of the true nature of mind and our limited perception. To transcend these limitations and work for the benefit and success of others requires a training of both the mind and the heart. Lama Tsering will be presenting this radical paradigm in a teaching aimed at tearing asunder both hope and fear.

As long-term practitioner, Chagdud Khadro is deeply rooted in the lineage of teachings and practices she received from Chagdud Rinpoche. Incomparably she relates the authentic, centuries-old Buddhist knowledge to the challenges of modern life. She can win her audience through her dynamic, clear and caring style.

Chagdud Khadro contributes tirelessly to spreading the Dharma in the Americas and worldwide. Chagdud Rinpoche designated her as spiritual director of the Chagdud centers in Brazil and Latin America, a position that she still holds to date.

Clarity and Compassion in Times of Turbulence

As practitioners and students we rely on the teachings of the Buddha. We expect relief for daily challenges and guidance for the main questions of existence. However there are times of turbulence when we face doubts and confusion on our spiritual path.

On this weekend, Chagdud Khadro will give teachings on how to reinforce our confidence in the dharma in times of difficulties. She will show us how a spiritual crisis can be regarded as a privilege and used on the path to liberation. She will guide meditations and contemplations, enabling us to develop clarity and compassion for ourselves and others.

Suitable for buddhist practitioners and people who are interested in buddhism as spiritual practice.
